Eight of our members shot in the 155th Imperial Meeting at Bisley in July. The first Friday was very hot and many shooters struggled with the heat. The remainder of the week was a much more pleasant temperature with only a couple of light showers on a couple of days.
Two of our members got through to the second stage of the Kings Prize (Reg Curtis and Ed Feast) but unfortunately didn’t qualify for the final.
We entered 4 teams into the concurrent matches and finished as follows:
Steward – 27th out of 35 teams
Belgian – 19th out of 31 teams
Bank of England – 21st out of 28 teams
Rifle Clubs – 27th out of 37 team
Reg was our highest man in the Grand coming in at 55th.
Jo Baldwin won the Gordon Bennett trophy for the highest placed club member in the Grand Aggregate (having not won it in the previous 3 years) and Max Sheridan-Oliver won the Spiriti Cup for the highest placed club member in the Kings Prize (again, having not won it in the previous 3 years).
Several of our members were also selected to shoot and/or coach for their counties.
Congratulations go to Ed Feast for being selected to shoot for England at Raton in New Mexico in September. Well done!
