Covid-19 wasn’t going to stop us holding our club championships and we had excellent weather – warm and sunny.
We would usually hold the event over 2 days, but prior to Covid-19 we had already decided to try running the championships on just the one day. We had originally booked 300, 600, 900 and 1000 and had intended to shoot 2 & 10 at each range. However, the NRA altered the booking to 300, 500 & 600 in the morning and just 1000 in the afternoon, so we shot 2 & 7’s at short range and 2 & 15 at 1000. The results were as follows:
Name | 300 | 500 | 600 | Total | 1000 | Total |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Paul Johnson | 34.2 | 32.1 | 33.2 | 99.5 | 71.6 | 170.11 |
Tony Hopkins | 32.3 | 32.2 | 35.4 | 99.9 | 65.3 | 164.12 |
Alan Coxon | 32.0 | 32.1 | 35.5 | 99.6 | 59.0 | 158.6 |
Eddie Kooiker | 22.0 | 22.0 | 29.0 | 73.0 | 40.0 | 113.0 |
Phillip Raphael | 34.0 | 31.1 | 26.1 | 91.2 | 59.5 | 150.7 |
Max Brown | 71.5 |
Top score at short range winning the Frank Clarke Bowl was Tony.
Top score at long range winning the Webster Trophy was Paul.
Top aggregate score winning the Ashworth Cup was Paul.
Eddie won all three handicap trophies – The John Winter Salver, the Mauger Cup and the St.James Cup.
During this weekend we normally present the Gordon Bennett Trophy (highest in the Grand Agg at the Imperial Meeting, not having won it in the last 3 years) and the Ernie Spiriti Cup (highest in the Quuen’s Prize, not having won it in the last 3 years). Only 3 club members were able to shoot the delayed Imperial this year and the winner of both trophies is Joe Baldwin.
Thank you to everyone who took part.
