Seven of our members shot the 153rd Imperial Meeting at Bisley in July. Due to the extreme heat, the number of shots fired were reduced in some of the competitions.
Unfortunately, none of our members got through to the second stage of the Queens Prize. Ian and Reg both managed to get through to the second stage of the Georges but did not make it to the final. Reg was our top man in the Grand in 177th place with a total score of 542.43
We entered 4 teams into the concurrent matches and finished as follows:
In the Steward we finished 29th out of 37 teams entered.
In the Belgian we finished 25th out of 39 teams entered.
In the Bank of England we finished 26th out of 36 teams entered.
In the Rifle Clubs we finished 34th out of 37 teams entered.
Geoff Baylis won the Gordon Bennett trophy for the highest placed club member in the Grand Aggregate (having not won it in the previous 3 years) and Paul Johnson won the Spiriti Cup for the highest placed club member in the Queens Prize (having not won it in the previous 3 years). These trophies will be presented at the Club Championships in September.
Several of our members were also selected to shoot and/or coach for their counties.
